FBC absolutely on fire!! Can't wait to see the other semi-finalist and finalist picks from the other teams. Good luck everyone!
ReplyDeleteProbably late now, but doesn't Dogged violate the rules of the contest? It's a sequel of the Obsidian path (whose first work, Black Stone Heart, was already entered in SPFBO) and so isn't the first work in a series.
ReplyDeleteSince I'm sure you wouldn't post a comment like this without doing a basic google, I feel confident you will be able to reply with a link to an offical source confirming it's a sequel to The Obsidian Path and doesn't work as a standalone.
DeleteThe Amazon entry for Dogged full title is Dogged: The Obsidian Path and it's stated that "Related to: The Obsidian Path". In addition the author states (at https://www.grimdarkmagazine.com/exclusive-cover-reveal-for-dogged-by-michael-r-fletcher) "Dogged is the perfect title for this fluffy-eared romp through the world of the Obsidian Path". I admit that I'm not sure whether this counts as being a standalone.
DeleteI feel that you would admit that when you wrote "It's a sequel of the Obsidian path" ... that is not the same thing as "it's stated that "Related to: The Obsidian Path". At this point, you've probably answered your own question.
